Madonna’s, MTV Awards Poster

In this photo series, Madonna portrays a Hindu Goddess, which emerges from a background of emanating rays of light, ominous-looking dragons and mythical swans. The photographs were the visual treatment for the Ray of Light track, Shanti/Ashtangi and Madonna makes sure to take the viewer on a short visual trip to Bombay. Back to reality – the shoot took place in New York City’s Meat Packing District in May 1998.
